Aron Baynes has been cleared to join the Phoenix Suns after finally testing negative to COVID-19.

The Australian big man was forced to spend more than a month at his home in Phoenix following a positive test and has been awaiting clearance from the NBA.

The Athletic, citing sources, reported Baynes will fly to Orlando, Florida on Monday and enter the NBA's "bubble" in Walt Disney World.

The Queenslander was hit hard by the virus and despite initially separating himself from his family in their Phoenix home it spread to his wife and two young children.

"It actually put me on my butt for a good week," Baynes told the Athletic last week.

"I slept for four days straight."

Baynes said his wife and children did not suffer similar severe symptoms.

The Suns play their first regular season game of the NBA restart in the Walt Disney World bubble against the Washington Wizards on Friday.
