The Rollers stayed with the competition's big guns early, trailing just 17-15 at the end of the first quarter and even briefly levelled in the second stanza.

That was pushed out to a 24-point margin by three-quarter time with the US in full control.

Williams top scored with 24 points on 10 of 19 shooting, including three 3-pointers, while Bill Latham's 13 points was best in the.faltering Aussie attack

Australia were bitterly disappointed by the scoreline, which came after Saturday's 64-53 win over Germany, who Team USA only managed to overcome by five points.

Despite the loss the Rollers remained top of Group B with three wins from four games thanks to a superior points differential.

The Americans, who lost to Great Britain also have a 3-1 record, while the Brits were shock losers against Germany.
