Bathurst confirmed for Supercars finale

3 minute read

The Supercars season will finish at Mount Panorama in December, as the concluding event of a six-day spectacular at the iconic Australian motorsport circuit.

The final event of the Supercars season will be the Bathurst 1000, organisers have confirmed.

Mount Panorama will host six-days of on-track entertainment and racing from November 30 through until the Great Race on Sunday, December 5.

All categories are expected to challenge the mountain with the Supercars Championship, Super 2 Series, Porsche Carrera Cup and many others seeing off the season after a COVID-19 impacted calendar.

Swathes of fans are expected to descend on Bathurst with Supercars and Australian Racing Group working closely with NSW health authorities around COVID-safe measures and public health order requirements, to ensure the safety of all staff and patrons attending the event.

Organisers say discussions are ongoing with the four other events that are due to feature on the calendar prior to the Bathurst 1000.

Supercars CEO Sean Seamer says the historic six-day event could result in the best Bathurst 1000 in history.

"It's been a tough year for motorsport fans but we're confident this is the recipe for the best possible end to the 2021 season," he said.

Bathurst Mayor Ian North believes fans will be treated to a unique experience to cap off the 2021 season.

"The events, over six days, will be something not seen before at the Mount and will be a great way to see racing return to Bathurst in 2021," he said.

An announcement on the other four Supercars rounds for 2021 is expected to be made later this week.
