Hayne not aiming to repeat past heroics

Jarryd Hayne says doing his job at right centre is more important than repeating his Dally M-winning form for Parramatta to be a title hope.

Jarryd Hayne says he knows he doesn't have to repeat his 2009 heroics to give Parramatta their best shot at ending their premiership drought.

Eels coach Brad Arthur has spoken repeatedly about Hayne only needing to fulfill his role in the centres for Parramatta to have success, and Hayne said he was happy to buy into that approach.

"There's not just one or two players we're going to rely on for the whole year. That's something we're excited about and that's a mentality we're taking into the year," Hayne said.
