Brookvale Oval's inferior surface has reportedly forced officials to move Manly's NRL trial against Cronulla next Saturday night to Shark Park.

Coaching staff assessed the Lottoland surface on Friday morning before deciding to move the match, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph

The news comes ahead of the NSW Waratahs' opening-round Super Rugby match against the Hurricanes at the ground on Saturday night.

The ground's playing surface has long been a point of contention and concerns were highlighted when three Manly players seriously injured their knees there in the opening two months of last season.
