Cody Walker has talked through the match-winning play that capped a day of dominance for the South Sydney No.6 in a 28-24 defeat of the Warriors.

Cody Walker might back his instincts more often after revealing his fourth and match-winning try had already played out in his head a week earlier against Manly.

The South Sydney five-eighth bagged a quartet of four-pointers in Saturday's 28-24 comeback defeat of the Warriors, with two in the last seven minutes capping his day of domination on the Sunshine Coast.

Walker planted the match-winner in the left corner with three minutes to play, making the call to run to the blindside rather than infield and set up a field goal attempt.

Talking through the moment post-game, Walker admitted to a sense of deja vu.

"I saw I had a middle forward in front of me (on Saturday) and last week when Reyno (Adam Reynolds) went for the field goal we sort of had them down the short side as well," he said.

"I wasn't as dominant as I was today, so sort of pulled off (and didn't call the play last weekend)."

The Sea Eagles went on to win that game 13-12 but Walker ensured there was no repeat in what was the Sunshine Coast's first NRL game and his first NRL four-try haul.

The Rabbitohs are now 4-1 despite the absence of Greg Inglis (shoulder) and Braidon Burns (hamstring).

Bennett said post-game that he expected Inglis to report to training on Monday after travelling to the Sunshine Coast as a spectator.

Walker said Kyle Turner's ability to plug a gap in the centres had been crucial, while Bennett lauded Cook's more direct play for helping them home on Saturday.
