Newcastle winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall is set for a move to the Super League, ending his 13-year career in the NRL.

Newcastle winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall has played his final game in the NRL after accepting a deal with a Super League club.

Kenny-Dowall, who has been a solid servant for the Knights over the past three years, was due to come off contract at the end of the season.

It is believed the former New Zealand international has been ruled out of Sunday's final round clash with Penrith because of a knee injury.

The 31-year-old now departs for England after 277 games in 13 seasons in the NRL, 10 of which were with the Sydney Roosters.

Kenny-Dowall played on the wing in the Roosters' 2010 triumph, and his 121 tries for the Tri-colours is second to Anthony Minichiello in club history.

He also played 13 Tests for the Kiwis, making his debut in 2007.

"I was a bit emotional this week when I found out this was going to be my last year," Kenny-Dowall told News Corp.

"I've been reflecting a lot. It's been an unbelievable journey. No one would've thought I would've played in this game for so long.

"I knew from a kid I wanted to play in the NRL and play for my country. I would've been happy to play just one season."

Kurt Mann is an option to play on the wing against the Panthers, while 19-year-old Starford To'a is another who could be promoted from an extended bench.
