Canterbury hooker Jeremy Marshall-King has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2021 NRL season.

Canterbury will have at least one dummy-half on their books for the next two years after re-signing Jeremy Marshall-King until the end of the 2021 season.

Marshall-King has emerged as a long-term hooker after starting a career-high 11 of his 17 games this year in the No.9 jumper.

He was recognised for his efforts by claiming the coach's gong at the club's end-of-season awards night last Monday before inking a new deal this week.

"Jeremy is the sort of player that every club needs," coach Dean Pay said.

"He has fully embraced the hooker's role and he has those qualities of toughness and determination that have really added to the side over the past two seasons."

Marshall-King's signature is pivotal for a Bulldogs roster light on dummy-halves following the departures of Michael Lichaa and Fa'amanu Brown.

The club had been in talks with current Manly rake Apisai Koroisau, who eventually penned a three-year deal with Penrith.

Canterbury are now likely to turn their attention on a number of players entering the final year of their deals, led by captain Josh Jackson.

Adam Elliott, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Kieran Foran, Will Hopoate, Lachlan Lewis, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Aidan Tolman are also without deals beyond 2020.

Melbourne forward Joe Stimson is their only notable signing so far for next year.
