Most NRL players escaped rugby league's World Cup Nines without any serious injuries, with Parramatta lock Nathan Brown's ankle the main concern.

Parramatta forward Nathan Brown looks set to be the biggest casualty of the World Cup nines, with the Eels star suffering a suspected syndesmosis injury.

Brown left Bankwest Stadium on Saturday night in a moon boot, missing the last two matches of Australia's title success after injuring his ankle in the win over Papua New Guinea.

Brown has endured a difficult 2019, having missed 12 weeks early in the year with a pectoral injury.

Meanwhile fellow Kangaroos backrower Wade Graham also sustained a glute injury, but is expected to be fit to face New Zealand on Friday night.

Graham was injured in Australia's win over the USA early on Saturday, but still featured in their last two games of the tournament.

Winger Josh Addo-Carr also appeared to hurt his left ankle in the Kangaroos' final against New Zealand, but the blow is not considered serious.

Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma will also require scans on his elbow after being hurt while playing for Samoa.

He was spotted in a sling in the bowels of Bankwest Stadium, but was confident the injury was not serious.
