Corey Oates can notch up a decade of service at Brisbane after the winger agreed to a new three-year deal at the NRL club on Monday.

The strong-running Oates' extension, which includes player options for the 2021 and 2022 campaigns, is a huge boost for the Broncos after he reclaimed his place in the Queensland State of Origin team this season.

Oates, 25, made his debut for the Broncos in 2013 and was regularly among the club's best in a topsy-turvy season under new coach Anthony Seibold.

The deal involves a 12-month extension, with an option able to be triggered by the player to remain a further two years beyond that.

"It's good to have things sorted. The Broncos have been great for the last eight years or so and it's always hard to leave somewhere - the last thing I want to do is pack up and have to start again," Oates said.

Seibold was excited to lock in the winger, who he described as a "representative-quality player in the prime of his career".

His retention is one of two dominoes the club hopes will fall, with Alex Glenn likely to follow Oates and remain a one-club player despite fielding interest from elsewhere.

The respected back-rower is also a possible captaincy option at Red Hill as Seibold continues to overhaul the squad next season.

The club will also brace for a battle to retain gun forward David Fifita beyond next season.

The Queensland Origin talent has been linked to a host of clubs and will be able to entertain offers at the end of the week.
