NRL's Eels promote Sarantinos to CEO

3 minute read

Jim Sarantinos has been appointed NRL club Parramatta's new CEO.

The Parramatta Eels have promoted Jim Sarantinos to be the NRL's new CEO.

Previously the club's chief operating officer, Sarantinos has been acting CEO since Bernie Gurr stepped down from the role last month.

The board conducted a wide search before deciding Sarantinos was the right person to replace Gurr, who was brought in to lead the club's turnaround after the dark days of the 2016 salary cap scandal.

"The foundations have been laid over the last couple of years and I intend to build on that over the next period of our history," said Sarantinos.

"We play in a world class venue at Bankwest Stadium and the facilities at Kellyville Park will be outstanding.

"Now that we are a stable club, our priority is to deliver sustained success both on and off the field."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
