Latrell Mitchell will not be signing for South Sydney, according to the NRL club's coach Wayne Bennett.

Sydney Roosters star Mitchell, 22, has been linked with a move to arch-rivals Rabbitohs in recent weeks as his stand-off with the NRL champions continues.

Bennett says the Rabbitohs have enough centres after the club reportedly signed Jai Arrow on a lucrative four-year deal from Gold Coast from 2021.

Arrow is seen as the ideal replacement for retired captain Sam Burgess and there is speculation he will seek an early release and make his Rabbitohs debut in 2020.

The Red and Green have also re-signed State of Origin half Cody Walker until the end of 2022.

"We won't be signing Latrell," Bennett told Blindside.

"We have enough centres. I am happy with Braidon Burns and James Roberts.

"I needed a forward to replace Sam."

Bennett's claims have narrowed Mitchell's options once again after Wests Tigers distanced themselves from the Roosters centre last week.
