Titans forward charged over crusher tackle

3 minute read

Moeaki Fotuaika faces a possible two-week suspension after the NRL match review committee issued the Gold Coast prop with a crusher tackle charge.

Gold Coast's Moeaki Fotuaika has been charged with a crusher tackle offence that could sideline the prop for two NRL games.

Fotuaika came under scrutiny from the NRL match review committee for his tackle on Canberra captain Jarrod Croker during the 58th minute of the Titans's 36-16 loss on Saturday.

An early guilty plea would reduce Fotuaika's ban to one match.

Raiders prop Josh Papalii has been issued with a grade one careless high tackle charge and faces a fine.

Manly winger Tevita Funa has been handed the same charge out the Sea Eagles' heavy defeat to South Sydney and can also escape with a fine.
