Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has been fined for tripping Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett in Friday night's gripping AFL preliminary final win.

Cotchin can accept a $500 fine with an early guilty plea.

As was expected, he is free to play in the grand final as the Tigers chase a third premiership in four years.

Power duo Peter Ladhams and Zak Butters were dealt financial penalties for indiscretions at Adelaide Oval.

Ladhams can accept a $1000 fine for striking Tigers defender Noah Balta.

Butters was charged with forceful front-on contact against Jack Riewoldt and can accept a $1500 fine.
