Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been training with the New Zealand's rugby union Sevens team but the Warriors say he is committed to the 2021 NRL season.

The Warriors insist skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has no plans to try to win Olympic gold despite training with the New Zealand Sevens side.

The NRL superstar has been training with the Sevens squad this week, again raising rumours of a potential code switch ahead of next year's delayed Tokyo Olympics.

But such a move has been shut down by Warriors boss Cameron George.

"Each year Roger does an education trip, last year he went to the States," George told Stuff.co.nz

"But this year he can't travel and it was coincidental that where he was staying in Papamoa, the Sevens team were there too.

"So he went into their camp to watch and learn.

"If he could have travelled overseas, like last year when he went training at a university, he would have.

"He spent a week working with a sprint coach last year."

Stuff reported that the 27-year-old reached out to the New Zealand side, wanting to meet the players and see how they trained.

Tuivasa-Sheck is contracted to the Warriors until the end of the 2022 season, although the final year has an option in his favour.

He was linked to rugby union through the year after the Warriors were forced to spend the season in Australia, with Tuivasa-Sheck's partner and two children remaining back home in Auckland.

The 2018 Dally M medal winner said post-season that if the Warriors were again forced to relocate to Australia his family would this time shift to Sydney.

Meanwhile, the Warriors announced that former Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos half Sean O'Sullivan has signed a one-year deal with the club.

The 22-year-old former Junior Kangaroos and Australian Schoolboys representative will add depth to the club's halves resources alongside frontline choices Kodi Nikorima and Chanel Harris-Tavita.
