STATE OF ORIGIN III AT A GLANCE

* RESULT: Queensland 20 (Valentine Holmes, Edrick Lee, Harry Grant tries, Valentine Holmes three cons, pen goal) bt NSW 14 (James Tedesco, Daniel Tupou tries, Nathan Cleary two cons, pen goal) at Suncorp Stadium.

* KEY MOMENT: With NSW down 20-14 and charging back into the match in the dying minutes, Josh Addo-Carr was denied a penalty try when he kicked and was taken down by Maroons fullback Corey Allan. Allan was sin-binned, but Queensland held on.

* MAN OF THE MATCH: Cameron Munster was absolutely superb on return from concussion. He looked dangerous every time he touched the ball while his three kicks in two plays just before the break broke the deadlock and gave Queensland a 12-6 lead they would never relinquish.

* TALKING POINT: In a series dogged by concussions, the worst was saved for last. NSW lost James Tedesco in the 20th minute after his head collided with Josh Papalii's leg. He was then roughed up by Jai Arrow in what was a poor look for both him and the game.

* KEY STAT: Queensland have now won nine of 12 deciders played in Brisbane, while also drawing another to retain the Shield. The Blues have still won just one decider played anywhere since 2006.

* INJURIES: NSW - James Tedesco (concussion), Cody Walker (concussion); Maroons - Brenko Lee (calf)
