The Brisbane Broncos have named former Melbourne Storm boss Dave Donaghy as their new chief executive officer.

The Brisbane Broncos have appointed former Melbourne Storm boss Dave Donaghy as the club's new CEO.

The Broncos Board made the official announcement on Wednesday, with the club confirming current CEO Paul White would continue in the role until the end of the month.

"Donaghy is an accomplished and experienced executive with over a decade of service in senior management roles in the National Rugby League (NRL) and Australian Football League (AFL)," the announcement read.

"He has excelled at leading high-performance teams and organisations and developing and fostering strong organisational culture."

Donaghy will replace White, whom the club said had agreed to depart on February 28 by mutual agreement.

"White's exceptional commitment to and investment in the Broncos during his period as CEO is to be commended," a club statement read.

The Broncos finished last in the NRL last season and Queenslander Donaghy was always the hot favourite to succeed him.
