South Sydney five-eighth Cody Walker is confident the Bunnies can incorporate Latrell Mitchell back into their attack, adding fuel to a side that remained on-song in 2020 despite his absence.

Mitchell ruptured his proximal hamstring tendon in August of last year and missed the remainder of the season as the Rabbitohs battled all the way to the preliminary final.

The first competitive test of his return to fitness will come on Saturday when he lines up for the Indigenous All Stars against their Maori counterparts in Townsville, and his Rabbitohs teammate Walker is confident that Mitchell will turn a few heads.

"When we were playing last year we were hitting our straps and having Latrell back in the fold over the pre-season has been good," Walker said.

"He's had a good pre-season, he's looking fit and in good shape and it's obvious we'll bring that connection tomorrow and moving forward - we are looking forward to that."

Walker told AAP there are things Mitchell does on the football field that few can.

"He's got a huge presence. Some of the things he does not many players can actually do," he said.

"As Laurie (Daley) said, you forget sometimes how big he is physically, and what he does for his teams and the strengths he has."

There were suggestions from Indigenous All Stars coach Daley that Mitchell will move around the paddock on Saturday evening, shifting from fullback to the centre role due to fitness.

Walker said the former Rooster can play all over the park and will be utilised in the NRL this year through many routes.

"We'll be putting him sometimes on the short side and on the long side," Walker said.

"His three-on-twos are good, and he has a pretty good pass on him as well, he's a strong runner of the footy and is ready to go this year."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
