Brandon Smith facing fortnight NRL ban

3 minute read

A two-game NRL suspension looms for Melbourne Storm hooker Brandon Smith for a shoulder charge in their 50-0 defeat of South Sydney.

In-form Melbourne hooker Brandon Smith is set to miss at least one week after his shoulder charge on South Sydney's Damien Cook earned the ire of the NRL judiciary.

Smith was hit with a grade-one charge for his 46th-minute infringement and could be rubbed out for two games, although an early guilty plea will see his suspension halved.

Backrower and teammate Felise Kaufusi escaped with a fine after he was penalised for dangerous contact in a seventh-minute tackle on Cody Walker.

That follows a grade-two dangerous contact charge for a tackle on Parramatta's Ryan Matterson in the second round that saw Kaufusi miss two games.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
