North Queensland's NRL signing spree has continued, locking in versatile Kiwis back Peta Hiku on a two-year deal.

Having previously played under coach Todd Payten at the Warriors last year, Hiku will make the move to North Queensland at the end of this season.

The 28-year-old will likely play in the centres for the Cowboys, with his 52 tries and 147 NRL games to offer some much-needed experience in the position.

"Peta is a smart and experienced centre, who has also shown he can play fullback and in the halves," Payten said.

"He's really creative for his outside men, he's a try scorer himself and he's a good family man who is going to add value to the club on and off the field."

The Cowboys have former State of Origin centre Justin O'Neil off-contract and having played just five games this year.
