A previous facial fracture has saved Manly gun Tom Trbojevic from serious injury during their crushing 56-10 NRL win over Parramatta on Saturday night.

Trbojevic again starred for the Sea Eagles with five try assists and a four-pointer of his own but was left sporting a swollen and bruised cheekbone.

However, the NRL club revealed in a statement on Sunday that the knock was in the same area as a previous injury and he's a chance to face Canberra next Friday night.

In September 2018 Trbojevic broke his left cheekbone and needed surgery to repair the damage.

"Fortunately, the hit was on a plate that he has from a previous fracture which prevented a serious injury from occurring," the Manly statement read.

"Tom has some swelling and bruising around the site. He will be given every chance to prove his fitness for next Friday night's match against the Canberra Raiders."

Meanwhile, centre Brad Parker is set to be sidelined after suffering concussion from an alleged shoulder charge that resulted in Eels second-rower Ryan Matterson being sent off.

The Sea Eagles say Parker will follow the normal concussion protocols with the Manly medical team to determine a return to play date.
