Canterbury second-rower Adam Elliott has been stood down for the final two rounds against Manly and Wests Tigers with the Bulldogs and NRL Integrity Unit investigating an alleged incident at a Gold Coast restaurant.

There was no breach of the competition's biosecurity protocols, however it's believed the 26-year-old was asked to leave the establishment.

He was reportedly in the company of NRLW player Millie Boyle.

The club issued a statement on Monday saying they had been "made aware of an incident involving Adam Elliott on the Gold Coast.

"As a result, the Bulldogs have stood Elliott down from the final two matches of the season, until that process has been completed," the Bulldogs said.

Earlier this year, Elliott sought professional help for an alcohol problem after off-field issues.
