Wests Tigers five-eighth Adam Doueihi is set to undergo a second reconstruction of his left knee after suffering a partial tear of his ACL against Cronulla.

Doueihi suffered the injury during the Tigers' 50-20 hiding by the Sharks in Rockhampton and returned to Sydney during the week for scans.

It's the same knee Doueihi injured and had surgery on in 2018 while he was at South Sydney.

"ACL reco x2 loading," Doueihi tweeted on Friday, confirming he was set to go under the knife again.

Doueihi is looking at a minimum nine-month recovery period, meaning he'll miss at least the first three months of the 2022 season.

The Tigers have brought Jock Madden into their team for this weekend's clash with Penrith to replace him.

The 23-year-old's setback will reportedly see halves partner Luke Brooks remain at the Tigers next year despite reports he was on his way out.
