SNAPSHOT OF THE SECOND NRL QUALIFYING FINAL:

* Result: South Sydney 16 bt Penrith 10 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

* Key moment: With scores locked at halftime 10-10, South Sydney claimed a lead they would never relinquish when Adam Reynolds and Blake Taaffe put Jaxson Paulo for what proved the match-winning try.

* Key stat: Penrith completed at just 65 per cent, their second-worst figure of the year.

* Injuries/suspensions: Penrith lock Isaah Yeo was placed on report for a crusher tackle while Liam Martin could also find himself in trouble for the same offence. If the two forwards are charged, they face missing next week's semi-final.

* What's next? Penrith take on the winner of Parramatta and Newcastle, and will have to play Melbourne in the preliminary final if they win through to that. South Sydney are in a fourth preliminary in as many years against either Manly or the Sydney Roosters, but have fallen at that hurdle for three straight years.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
