A member of Canberra's NRL staff has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the club's players to undertake COVID-19 tests and isolate.

A Canberra staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.

The NRL club confirmed on Thursday a member of the club's football staff had contracted the virus, with all players and other staff members directed to isolate after undertaking a COVID-19 test.

A statement said the club is following NRL protocols while waiting for direction from ACT Health.

The Raiders are the latest NRL team to confirm a positive case, coming a day after Newcastle announced development player Chris Vae'lia had tested positive for coronavirus.

Knights players were sent home from training, but those who have returned negative test results returned to the club on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, two cases were recorded from a NSW Blues camp across the weekend, from members of both the Emerging Blues men's squad and the Sky Blues women's camp.
