Brisbane's Tom Flegler has been charged for three separate offences out of his return NRL match, attracting up to three games in bans and $3000 in fines.
Brisbane forward Tom Flegler is facing a three-game ban and up to $3000 in fines after copping three separate charges in his nightmare NRL return against the Warriors.
Flegler was placed on report three times and sin-binned once in the Broncos 20-6 loss in Redcliffe, on his return from a ban at the end of last year.
The 22-year-old has found himself in most trouble for a hip-drop tackle on Ben Murdoch-Masila, equating to a three-game ban that can go down to two with an early plea.
Flegler was also hit with another grade-one charge for a separate hip drop on Wayde Egan, and picked up for another grade-one offence in the form of a late shot on Addin Fonua-Blake.
Both of those charges attract $1500 fines, which can be reduced to $1000 each with early guilty pleas.
Incredibly, the one incident Flegler was not charged with was the one that led to him being sin-binned after an alleged cannonball on Josh Curran.
The charges come after Brisbane coach Kevin Walters conceded on Saturday his forward was likely to find himself in trouble.
"He's on report four times so obviously that's not great for Tom or the club," Walters, who said he had not clearly viewed the incidents from the sideline, acknowledged.
"It's obviously Tom's first game back and he's looking for so much more, he's bitterly disappointed in there with what's unfolded.
"We'll just have to look at the vision and see where he's at with everything because he's not the type of player to deliberately want to go out and hurt people.
"He plays tough and he plays physical but it's nothing personal with it."
Meanwhile Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga also faces a three-game ban out of the same game, in trouble for a cannonball of his own and attracting a grade-three ban.
Again, it can be reduced to two games with an early guilty plea.
North Queensland's Griffin Neame and Chad Townsend were the only other men charged out of Saturday's games with both only facing fines.
