Parramatta halfback Mitchell Moses says focusing on his combinations with teammates is behind his red-hot start to the NRL season.

Moses picked up three try assists in last Saturday's 26-20 win over Gold Coast, steering the Eels to a fourth win from five starts this year.

The 27-year-old playmaker has already set up 10 tries for the Eels this season, four more than any other player in the competition and already halfway to his entire tally for the 2021 campaign.

Moses, who made his State of Origin debut in place of the injured Nathan Cleary for NSW in game three last year, says the success of his interplay with his teammates came from work at practice.

"I've just put a bit more time into my game. Bit more effort stuff," Moses told AAP.

"Working on combinations with some of the other boys which has been good.

"We've had another another year under our belt as a team and as a squad. Probably just connecting a lot better with the boys."

One thing Moses and the Eels know well, however, is that a season is not defined by how well you start but how you finish.

Since joining the Eels, Moses has featured in four finals campaigns but on each occasion Brad Arthur's team has been eliminated in the second week.

After holding off a fast-finishing Titans last weekend despite the second-half sin-binning of Origin forward Junior Paulo, Moses believes there's a newfound resilience within the Eels in 2022.

"We've got to keep our foot on the throat," he said.

"(Saturday) really showed how resilient we can be.

"Not having calls go our way, being under the pump in the second half ... going down there to 12 men and scoring points.

"We've really grown in that aspect and probably the old us would've lost that game. That's the plus."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
