Moses felt he owed it to Eels with winner

Mitch Moses has detailed his relief of kicking Parramatta to victory against Manly, after earlier being sin-binned in the Eels' come-from-behind win.

Mitch Moses felt he had a duty to make it up to Parramatta players for his earlier sin bin before nailing his match-winning conversion against Manly.

Moses was the hero for the Eels on Friday night, icing a sideline conversion in the penultimate minute to claim the come-from-behind 22-20 victory.

But it came after he'd watched Parramatta fall six behind while off the field, binned for pulling back on Tom Trbojevic during a linebreak late in the first half.

The Eels then slumped further behind almost immediately after he came back on the field, sliding towards a loss that would have had them on the verge of falling out of the top eight.

"I had the 10 in the bin so I was walking back thinking that I needed to save us because I'd let us down earlier in the game," Moses said.

"I needed to nail that moment and I'm glad it happened.

"I wanted that moment. Right from the moment we scored, I went up to Gutho and nodded at him.

"I've played that moment in the park with my old man kicking countless balls back to me in that scenario to win the game in a first-grade game.

"I nailed it."

Moses' sideline kick came after he missed a conversion for Parramatta to win against Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium back on Easter Monday.

He also missed a penalty goal on the siren last year against Penrith to beat the eventual premiers mid-season, from 30 metres out and halfway to the sideline.

But Friday night's shot never looked in doubt, in one of the best pressure kicks of the 27-year-old's career.

"I haven't really had too many opportunities like that, so to do it from the sideline and in the rain was (awesome)," he said.

"You play it in your head and practice it from a young age. That's down to all the times me and my old man were down at Kingsdene Oval kicking balls.

"I'm just happy I came up with the moment because I let us down earlier in the game with that 10 minutes.

"I was trying too hard and went from marker a bit too keen. I'm just glad the boys had my back."
