Rugby fans heading to the Bledisloe Cup to see the Wallabies and All Blacks play in Sydney on Saturday are being asked to mask up and avoid public transport.

The 40,000 Sydney rugby fans expected at the Bledisloe Cup are being urged to wear masks and avoid taking public transport to the venue.

Transport for NSW chief operations officer Howard Collins said a discounted flat rate of $20 for parking at Sydney Olympic Park would be available for the event at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

"If you are able to, we urge you to drive, walk, cycle or catch a taxi or ride-share with your group to see the Wallabies and All Blacks play in an effort to reduce numbers on public transport," Mr Collins said on Thursday.

Casual parking would be very limited and he recommended that fans pre-book a parking space online before 11.59pm on Friday.

Mr Collins urged fans to stay home if they felt unwell and to wear a mask when they weren't seated.

"This includes walking to and from designated seats, using stadium facilities and of course on public transport," he said.

Anyone catching public transport is urged to maintain physical distancing, sit or stand on a green dot, practise good hygiene, use Opal and contactless payments, and wear a mask.

Extra public transport services will include express trains to Olympic Park leaving Central on Saturday from 4pm and return services running frequently after the match.

From the west, services will run regularly to Lidcombe where fans can change for shuttle trains direct to Olympic Park.

Buses would also run on all routes with services to Olympic Park starting from around 3.30pm, with frequent return services running after the game.

There will be enhanced cleaning on the trains and buses and marshals to help customers at busy interchanges.
