Wallaroos to meet Samoa in two Tests

3 minute read

Australia and Samoa will clash in two Tests in July with the Wallaroos looking to use the match to prepare for their postponed Rugby World Cup.

The Wallaroos will finally get back into action in July, hosting Samoa in Tests in Brisbane and Sydney.

With the 2021 Rugby World Cup postponed a year, the Australian women have been starved of playing opportunities since August 2019 due to to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Wallaroos-Samoa match will be played as a double-header with the Wallabies-France Test at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, July 17.

The women will then play a stand-alone match on Thursday, July 22 at Sydney's Leichhardt Oval.

The two matches for the Wallaroos will serve as crucial preparation for the World Cup in New Zealand in 2022, after it was postponed a year in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Samoa are still to qualify and will contest a RWC repechage tournament later this year.
