The new group stage of Uefa's rebranded Women's Champions League has thrown up an all-Australian clash as Sam Kerr's Chelsea were paired with Juventus, managed by Joe Montemurro.

Arsenal, whose squad includes Matildas Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Lydia Wlliams, were paired with defending champions Barcelona while Ellie Carpenter's Lyon meet Bayern Munich.

Kerr made the final with Chelsea last year while Montemurro, when Arsenal manager, reached the last eight the previous season. The former Brunswick Juventus player took over at Italian giants Juventus this summer. Also in group A are two-time former winners Wolfsburg and Swiss club Servette.

Alongside Arsenal and Barcelona in group C are debutants Hoffenheim, of Germany, and Danish club Koge. Besides Bayern in group D Lyon also face Hacken, of Sweden, and Benfica.

In the remaining group Paris St Germain and Real Madrid - who put out Hayley Raso and Alanna Kennedy's Manchester City in qualifying - are joined by Breidablik, of Iceland, and Ukrainian club Kharkiv.

Matches start October 5-6 with the final in Juventus's Turin stadium in May.
