Central Coast coach Alen Stajcic is eager to make sure Alou Kuol's last matches as a Mariner are memorable ones for the player and club.

The 19-year-old's breakout A-League season reaped rewards on Friday with German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart finalising a four-year deal with Kuol.

Before he heads to Europe, Kuol will play out the season with the Mariners.

As he has for most of the season, Kuol played as an impact substitute for the Mariners in Saturday's clash with Western United in Launceston.

Despite creating panic in United's defence at times in his half-hour on the field, Central Coast slipped to a 1-0 loss in Tasmania.

While they leave the Apple Isle with a defeat, Stajcic's team is dreaming of bringing more silverware to Gosford after three straight seasons with the wooden spoon.

Stajcic says Kuol will continue to play a key role in his team's push for success.

"It's fantastic for him. He deserves it," Stajcic said.

"I wish him all the best after the season.

"We'll obviously keep close tabs on him but we've still got another nine games here where he's part of our club and an important part of our club.

"We saw that (tonight), he definitely changed a bit, the game, when he came on ... as has been his role recently."

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
