Perth Glory have re-signed Socceroos defender Jason Davidson for the 2019-20 A-League campaign.

The 27-year-old has been an ever present in the Glory's dominant campaign after he signed a one-year deal following his return from Europe.

Capped 22 times by the Socceroos, the left-back has been crucial as the Glory have opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the A-League with five games remaining in the regular season.

Glory football director Jacob Burns said after beating several other clubs to initially sign Davidson, Perth had been keen to lock him in to another season.

"He has made a significant contribution to the team's success this season and we look forward to his continued performances as we build for the future," Burns said.

Davidson has contributed two goals and four assists and his rampaging runs down the left flank have become a key part of coach Tony Popovic's gameplan.

"I want to continue to be a part of something special," Davidson said.

"The success that the club is striving for is something that I want to help achieve and I feel fortunate to be a part of a team unit that is so strong on and off the pitch."

Davidson joins goalkeeper Liam Reddy and striker Andy Keogh in signing new deals with the Glory in the past week.
