Sydney FC coach Steve Corica wants his side ready to return fire for whatever Perth throws at them in next week's A-League grand final.
The Sky Blues qualified for their third grand final in the last five seasons with a ruthless 6-1 home thrashing of defending champions Melbourne Victory in Sydney on Sunday night.
It eclipsed their previous season-best haul of five in a game against lowly Central Coast, the only other time they have scored more than three in a League game this season.
Sydney enter next Sunday's season decider at Perth's Optus Stadium also buoyed by their good record this season against Glory,
They won two and lost one against the Premiers Plate winners, with one of their victories coming in Perth.
Corica wasn't concerned Sydney had perhaps played their grand final a week early given their scintillating performance.
"We're not getting carried away., it was a great win," Corica said.
"We'll bring the boys back down to earth next week.
"They know what to expect. Perth are a good team, so we need to be ready and focused and ready for everything that they throw at us.
"But we're going to give it back as well.".
Corica, who has led Sydney to a grand final in his first season in charge, downplayed his own contribution.
'It's about them, not me. I'm just there to point them in the right direction," he said.
"They've been there before. They've got the experience.
"It's going to be no different going to Perth. We've been there before....we've beaten them there this year.
"We're playing in a big stadium so it will be exciting, a great challenge for our boys as well, to go there and win away from home."
Sydney won an away grand final in 2010, when they beat Melbourne Victory in a penalty shootout at Etihad Satdium.
That was in Corica's last season as a player, but he was denied a fairytale finish, as a hamstring injury kept him out of the finals series.
.Current Sydney captain Alex Brosque did play in that grand final.
