Mariners add Serb to their A-League roster

3 minute read

Central Coast Mariners have added another veteran to their 2019-20 A-League roster, signing Serbian midfielder Milan Duric.

The Central Coast Mariners have continued their roster revamp and added more experience by signing Serbian midfielder Milan Duric for the 2019-20 season.

Duric has plied his trade in Macedonia, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Azerbaijan and Serbia, where he has played most recently for FK Vojvodina.

The 31-year-old Duric, who trained with Central Coast on Thursday, was spotted in Serbia by Mariners' coach Alen Stajic on a scouting mission.

"He is a natural leader and captained Vojvodina last season, one of the bigger clubs of Serbian football," Stajcic said.

"This signing is another example of bringing a strong core of experience and leadership to the club and Milan is a role model that our younger players will learn from."

Last week, Mariners signed two other vastly experienced players in goalkeeper Mark Birighitti and South Korean midfielder Kim Eun-Sun.
