Brisbane Roar women's head coach Mel Andreatta has quit the club in the lead-up to the W-League campaign.

Andreatta, who has been with the Roar since the start of the 2016-17 season, will move away from the role to continue her job within the Matildas set-up.

She was part of Australia's coaching staff at this year's Women's World Cup in France.

During her time at the Roar, Andreatta led the team to the 2017-18 premiership.

She'll be replaced by Roar academy coach Jake Goodship, who will take over immediately as the team prepares for the 2019-20 W-League season.

Goodship recently led the Roar's youth teams to the 2019 Y-League championship and a successful campaign in the NPL Queensland competition.
