Introduced to the A-League by ex-Socceroos striker John Aloisi, young Brisbane forward Dylan Wenzel-Halls is revelling under Roar coach Robbie Fowler's gaze.

Brisbane forward Dylan Wenzel-Halls cannot complain about the mentors he's had in his A-League career.

The 21-year-old made his A-League debut for the Roar last season under the stewardship of former Socceroos striker John Aloisi.

Now Wenzel-Halls finds himself learning the tricks of the striker's craft from Robbie Fowler - one of the best finishers in the history of the English Premier League.

"He's always looking to help me but it's not only me, it's looking to help everyone, he's in everyone's ear giving them little tips and feedback which I think it's really important," Wenzel-Halls said.

"For me it's exciting to work with someone of his calibre and I think I'm quite lucky to do that and be in that position.

"But even just watching the likes of Roy (O'Donovan) and how he moves as well, for a young striker, puts me in a good position."

Wenzel-Hall's return of five goals from 20 A-League matches didn't seem impressive to ex-England international Fowler when he took on the Roar job but the Liverpool legend admitted in July he'd been impressed by the youngster.

After missing both of the Roar's FFA Cup ties due to a knee injury, a fit-again Wenzel-Halls is eager to keep impressing his new boss before the club's A-League opener in Perth on October 13.

"I'd love to be involved week-in, week-out and whether that's coming off the bench or starting I just want to be there and ready and prepared to play my part, scoring goals, creating goals, assisting goals," he said.

"Ultimately everyone wants to play football, no-one wants to be sitting out so a good goal for me would be to play regular football."
