Muller arriving day before A-League derby

3 minute read

Western Sydney Wanderers' German international Nicolai Muller will arrive in Australia the morning before their A-League derby and isn't expected to play.

Western Sydney's new import Nicolai Muller will arrive just the day before Saturday's massive Harbour City A-League derby and is unlikely to see any game time.

The German international has been signed to replace Polish playmaker . Radoslaw MajewskI, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament knee injury at training in late September.

Winger Muller, who won two caps for Germany in 2013, arrives in Sydney on Friday morning.

He is expected to attend the Wanderers' captain's run on that day so he can meet his new teammates, but isn't expected to play the following day.

The last tickets for the game were released on Monday, with Wanderers' officials tipping a likely sellout.

They expect the crowd to surpass the attendance of 24,419 for their first game at the venue against English club Leeds United back in July.

The game shapes as an early season blockbuster as the Wanderers and Sydney FC are the only clubs with maximum points after two rounds.

The Sky Blues have lost just one of their last 17 matches to Western Sydney.

Wanderers are set to regain the services of one experienced player for the derby.

Bruce Kamau missed the first two games with an adductor injury but should be available for Saturday's match. .

The McGowan brothers are set to line up against each other, after Ryan joined Sydney and Dylan linked with the Wanderers.

Both have started the first two games with their respective clubs, with Ryan scoring the match-winner in Sydney's opening round match.
