Former Socceroos coach Guus Hiddink will return to Australia to manage a team at the Football for Fires exhibition match in May.

The Dutchman will go head-to-head against current Australia coach Graham Arnold for the match between the Firefighters All Stars and the SES All Stars at ANZ Stadium on May 23.

Known affectionately by local fans as "Aussie Guus", Hiddink oversaw the Socceroos' first-ever FIFA World Cup win at the 2006 tournament in Germany.

Arnold served as Hiddink's assistant when Australia defeated Uruguay at ANZ Stadium on November 16, 2005 to qualify for the 2006 World Cup and was also at his side in Germany.

A stellar line up of some of the leading players in world football over the past decade has already been announced, including Didier Drogba, David Trezequet and Dwight Yorke, alongside Aussie greats Mark Bosnich, John Aloisi and Mark Milligan.
