Adelaide United goalkeeper Paul Izzo says the Reds must halt a blame game to emerge from a three-match losing streak in the A-League.

Goalkeeper Paul Izzo says the blame game at Adelaide United must stop for the club to rescue its A-League season.

The Reds have slipped to seventh spot ahead of Sunday's home fixture against Newcastle amid a horror three-game losing streak.

Adelaide have conceded five goals in two of those matches, including last week's capitulation to Western United which tipped the Reds out of the top six.

The Reds have now let in 39 goals this season - only last-placed Central Coast (46) has conceded more - and shot-stopper Izzo says he's had enough.

"The common trend has been finger-pointing this season,' Izzo said

"A lot of the time it's 'this guy didn't do his job, this guy, this guy'.

"I think if we're a real team we win together, we lose together, we concede goals together, we score goals together.

"So I think everyone has to be held accountable, obviously players, coaches included."

While on the slide, Adelaide sit just three points behind fourth-placed Perth Glory entering the fresh round and their game against the Jets who are 10th and out of finals contention.

"The biggest thing we have to do is focus on ourselves," Izzo said.

"The blame game doesn't really work.

"When you got into slumps like this, it (criticism) comes from all angles.

"For me, the most important thing is the base, the core of the group, is strong."
