3 minute read

Melbourne Victory have signed emerging Australian striker Ben Folami on a loan deal for the next A-League season.

Emerging Australian striker Ben Folami is joining A-League club Melbourne Victory on a loan deal.

The 21-year-old is being loaned to Victory from English League One outfit Ipswich Town, where he's been playing since 2015.

Folami has been a regular in Australia's under-23 and under-19 teams, with five appearances for the Olyroos since last year.

The Sydney-born striker moved to Ipswich Town's academy in 2015 after stints at the Football NSW Institute and Sutherland Sharks.

Victory coach Grant Brebner said he's delighted to secure Folami for the season starting in late December.

"Ben is a very talented young striker with a bright future ahead of him," Brebner said in a statement on Thursday.

Folami will join Victory in Doha in late November when the club resumes its 2020 Asian Champions League campaign.
