Canberra United W-League players and staff are out of self-isolation following their return from Brisbane, meaning their clash with Newcastle can go ahead.

A W-League clash between Canberra United and Newcastle Jets will go ahead as planned after Canberra players and staff were released from self-isolation.

United played Brisbane Roar in Redcliffe on Thursday night and arrived back in Canberra late on Friday before Greater Brisbane went into a three-day lockdown.

In line with ACT Health regulations, United players and staff immediately self-isolated on their return

On Monday, the ACT government lifted quarantine requirements for people who had visited Greater Brisbane, allowing Canberra players and staff to leave self-isolation.

"The ACT Chief Health Officer has announced Greater Brisbane is no longer classified as a COVID-19 hotspot," the club tweeted on Monday.

"Canberra United players and staff who visited Brisbane for Rd 3 of the Westfield W-League are no longer required to quarantine."

Due to the isolation period, United did not train at the weekend but players were given their own programs while self-isolating.

United confirmed they would return to training on Tuesday ahead of Sunday's game against Newcastle.
