Japanese defender Kosuke Ota is keen to become an A-League champion after re-signing with Perth Glory for another two years.

Former Japan international Kosuke Ota is already daring to dream of being crowned Perth Glory's MVP next season after re-signing with the A-League club for two more years.

Ota's arrival at Glory this year was delayed due to lack of flights and quarantine requirements, but he impressed during his 19 appearances when he was finally cleared to play.

The 33-year-old is craving team success next season, and he also wants to be crowned Glory's best player - known as the Most Glorious Player.

"The last six months have gone by in an instant," Ota said.

"There were some difficulties, but I spent my days productively and my family was also happy.

"I love Perth Glory, the people at the club and the fans and I would like to achieve great results with them.

"I want to become a champion, that's all. And I will get MGP next season."

Glory coach Richard Garcia was impressed with how Ota settled into the A-League.

"It was a difficult season for a foreigner to come into the A-League with such a hard schedule," Garcia said.

"It's always difficult bringing your family and moving your whole life to a different country with a different culture and Kosuke dealt with all of that very well.

"Next year he'll know what to expect and I'm sure he'll be bigger and better and stronger."

Glory officially bid farewell to nine players this week - Tando Velaphi, Jason Geria, Dane Ingham, Sebastian Langkamp, Riley Warland, Neil Kilkenny, Nick Sullivan, Brandon Wilson, and Nick D'Agostino.

Central defender Aaron Calver and former Mariner Jack Clisby have signed on with the club, while the likes of Bruno Fornaroli, Liam Reddy, Carlo Armiento, Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Luke Bodnar, Daniel Stynes and Callum Timmins have penned new deals.
