Everton have scored three times in seven second-half minutes to beat Burnley 3-1 and move level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester United.

Everton have produced a remarkable Goodison Park comeback with three goals inside seven minutes to beat Burnley 3-1 in the Premier League.

The hosts looked battered and beaten after Ben Mee marked his 200th Premier League appearance with the opening goal in the 53rd minute.

However, within the space of 379 seconds - which included a tactical substitution and formation change - the Toffees turned the match on its head via a Michael Keane header against his former club, a stunning strike from Andros Townsend and a clinical one-on-one finish from fellow new arrival Demarai Gray.

And all this was achieved without last season's leading scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is likely to be out for at least two to three weeks with a broken toe and thigh injury.

It is four matches unbeaten now for Benitez and victory lifted Everton into fourth but level on 10 points with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

After Mee ran through a crowd of blue shirts to head home from close range, Everton's fighting spirit emerged in a crazy period that began when Keane flicked home a near-post header from Townsend's cross.

Manager Rafael Benitez immediately made a change to 4-3-3, withdrawing centre back Ben Godfrey for midfielder Andre Gomes, and the match changed in an instant.

Doucoure featured heavily as first he picked out Townsend from the halfway line and the winger cut inside onto his left foot to lash home a brilliant, looping, dipping shot.

He credited his mother for his game-changing display.

"I have to give a shout-out to my mum because during the week she sent me a compilation video of all my goals and she clipped them all together and told me I need to believe in myself again and I think you saw that with the goal, it was rolling back the years," Townsend told Sky Sports.

He then sliced Burnley apart with a through-ball to send Gray racing through to score the sealer as Everton ran riot.

Burnley had been the better side in the first half but they are still awaiting their first league win of the season and remain on one point in 18th place.
