THEY SAID IT: "Honestly, it's an ongoing battle and we either fix the system (VAR) or we don't use it at all because it's continuously happening in games over and over again" - Perth coach Richard Garcia queried the use of VAR after Western United's winning goal wasn't chalked off despite assist-provider Connor Pain appearing to take the ball out of play.

MAN OF THE WEEK: Melbourne Victory winger Marco Rojas had a huge say in his side's commanding 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar, providing the assists for Nick D'Agostino and Ben Folami to score the second and third goals.

BEAT THAT: Andrew Nabbout's brilliant bending finish from the edge of the Adelaide box to move Melbourne City 2-0 ahead. Sadly for City, it was all in vain as Adelaide came roaring back to seal a 2-2 draw.

STAT ATTACK: The number 13 might be unlucky for some, but Ufuk Talay's Wellington Phoenix have made it 13 games without loss after their win over the Mariners.

TALKING POINT: The Tony Popovic era at Melbourne Victory has started with a bang in the shape of back-to-back wins, and consecutive clean sheets. Victory backed up their hard-fought 1-0 opening win over Western United with a comfortable 3-0 triumph over Brisbane Roar. The two wins mean Victory, last season's wooden spooners, sit outright top after two rounds.

UNDER PRESSURE: Both Western Sydney and Sydney FC are yet to claim a win this season, with the Sky Blues losing to Macarthur and the Wanderers fortunate to claim a draw against Newcastle.

UP NEXT: The Wanderers will go in search of their first win of the season on Friday when they travel to Wollongong to face the Phoenix. Saturday's games start with Brisbane facing Adelaide, while Melbourne City play Western United and Newcastle heading to south to take on Sydney FC. Macarthur face off against the Mariners and the undefeated Victory welcome Perth to AAMI Park.
