Macarthur FC coach Ante Milicic has confirmed he's interested in bringing Central Coast defender Lewis Miller to the A-League Men's club next season.

Miller, who was sent off in the Mariners' dramatic 2-2 draw with Western Sydney on Wednesday night, is off contract at season's end and will be hot property given his emergence over the past two seasons.

Since debuting in March 2019, the 21-year-old has made 49 ALM appearances for the Mariners and been a key part of Nick Montgomery's backline during the 2021-22 campaign.

A Mariners scholarship product, Miller's future is far from clear but he's been linked with a move to Campbelltown Stadium with Western Sydney's Thomas Aquilina reportedly identified by Montgomery as a replacement.

"He's a player I'd be interested in, no doubt, but you don't want to talk too much about speculation or players from other clubs, particularly one that's having such a good season," Milicic told AAP.

"Central Coast are firmly in contention for the semi-finals positions, so I think that'd be disrespectful to speak any further, but I'm constantly monitoring players for next season and he's just one that's on my list.

"There's obviously a lot more and I'm sure other coaches will tell you the same."

Milicic indicating he's setting the targets at Macarthur for next season's recruitment would also appear to water down rumours the ex-Matildas coach is set to depart the Bulls.

Despite having a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season as the club's inaugural head coach, Milicic has been linked with a potential move to Europe, though nothing official has been announced.

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?
