Thanasi Kokkinakis has won his second ATP Challenger Tour title of the year to jump to world No.154.

The Australian defeated Slovenian Blaz Rola 6-4 6-4 to add to his tournament victory in California in August.

Kokkinakis didn't drop a set in a dominant performance in Las Vegas and earlier in the week overcame Norwegian third seed Casper Ruud in the semi-finals and rolled top seed Lloyd Harris in the round 16.

The 22-year-old Kokkinakis recorded the biggest win of his career in March when he defeated then world No.1 Roger Federer at the Miami Open but has failed to find consistency in 2018 after a knee injury in April.

Kokkinakis's triumph came as Jordan Thompson booked himself direct entry into January's Australian Open with a convincing tournament victory in Traralgon.

The 24-year-old beat Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3 6-4 in the final.

Thompson will be ranked No.87 after his his sixth title on the ATP's second-tier circuit.
