STAT OF THE DAY: At 37 years and 291 days old, Serena Williams is the oldest woman to make a grand slam final in the open era - 33 days older than Martina Navratilova was when she lost the 1994 title decider to Conchita Martinez - after outclassing Barbora Strycova 6-1 6-2 in her semi.
