SNAPSHOT FROM DAY 11 AT WIMBLEDON

PLAYER OF THE DAY: Roger Federer - in a breathtaking display of attacking grasscourt tennis, the incomparable Swiss denied great rival Rafael Nadal 7-6 (7-3) 1-6 6-3 6-4 to reach a record 12th men's singles final at the All England Club.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "It's always very, very cool to play against Rafa here, especially haven't played in so long. It lived up to the hype," - a relieved and elated Federer after taking the first showdown between the living legends at Wimbledon in 11 years.

STAT OF THE DAY: A month shy of his 38th birthday, Federer is the oldest men's finalist since 39-year-old Ken Rosewall lost the 194 title decider to Jimmy Connors.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: It's a third final featuring world no.1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic versus eight-times winner Federer on Sunday.
