Nick Kyrgios will again use the Kooyong Classic in Melbourne to finalise his preparations for the Australian Open.

The 24-year-old has been named in Australia's team for the inaugural ATP Cup, which runs from January 3-12.

World No.30 Kyrgios will then fine-tune his game with some exhibition matches at Kooyong.

The January 14-16 event will again field both men's and women's players.

In addition to Kyrgios, Bulgaria's 20th-ranked Grigor Dimitrov, Canadian Milos Raonic (31) plus Croatians Borna Coric (28) and Marin Cilic (39) are among the starters.

Former world No.1 players Caroline Wozniaki of Denmark and Maria Sharapova, as well as young Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, are some of the women's players.

After playing two matches at last month's Davis Cup Finals in Spain, Kyrgios had to withdraw from his singles rubber against Canada due to a shoulder injury.
